just a suggestion ... how about a calendar of events coming up in Thailand that might be worth photographing ? The floats of Ubon's Candle Festival, the "pretties" at the Motor Show, etc. You might need the services of your assistant, as much of the publicity seems to be in Thai only, the TAT's english language programme of events is woeful.

Mike -

This is a great idea but one I'm hesitant to implement. I don't want to get in the position of people expecting me to list these events because frankly I miss most of them because I'm out working.

What would be a great thing to do is start a running thread so all the members can contribute information on such events and we'll know to look in that thread to keep track of upcoming events. The bigger events I can post on the "What's New" page with the events webpage or other contact information when someone requests it.

The more member participation the better. The more members contribute the more the site becomes your own.. vs. my personal bulletin board. Suggestions and feedback are great contributions and we take them all on board.

Thank you!

Steve

I am a huge fan of newspapers as information dispensers. I don't think it gets any easier than just picking up the daily paper wherever you are in the Kingdom and checking it for up-and-coming events. Almost nobody does this.

Unlike when in the states where the newspapers are only good to line the bottom of my best friends cage.. when in Thailand I subscribe to the Post.. and it doesn't line a cage until read from front to back. The Wednesday edition if I remember right has a weekly calender of events, a special section. You can find coupons, 2-1 specials, and all manner of useful whatnots. I used to use it to plan my weeks when business was slow so I could have enough new information for my column.
