Hello Steve, a friend of mine gave me his copy of Lightroom 3 for me to try on my computer and I am very impressed by it.
But yesterday something happen to my Camera presets that I had created, now when I create a new catalog, these presets are not there.
I have tried to un-install LR 3, clean the registry and then re-installing it to no effect.
I've come to to rely on my presets has they save me so much time.

Do you have any ideas on what could have happed in LR 3 for this to happen?

Charles

Smack me I found out what I did wrong!
In LR 3 under Edit> preferences>presets>location, I'd tick the box, so the presets were being saved into the current catalog.

That is why I lost them, I have now unticked the box and they are all there.

Maybe just a lack of sleep on my part has I have to learn to live with our new-born baby daughter.

Hi Steve, this is what I was talking about with the preset, This is a screen capture, ( how do I put a pic here )
In LR 3 under Edit> preferences>presets>location, when I tick the box, the presets are being saved into the current catalog, but I cannot see them when I create a new catalog.
But if the box is not ticked then I can see all my Presets?

Assuming you didn’t erase them.. and you’re using Windows7 or Vista.. you can find your presets here:

 C:/user/Charles/appdata/roaming/adobe/lightroom/develop presents/lightroom presets

 Or

 C:/user/Charles/appdata/roaming/adobe/lightroom/develop presents/user presets

You’ll also find other presets for all kinds of things.

If you see them.. but can’t get them up in LR3.. the delete your preferences file and let it build a new one for you.. then they’ll be there:

C:/user/Charles/appdata/roaming/adobe/lightroom/preferences/Lightroom 3 Preferences.agp

Hope that helps

Steve
