Akili00 - The system you list sounds like a nice enough system, but until you use it you just can't tell how well the manufacturer integrated all the features.

The new Kindle Fire is a 7" tablet and it's $199. It's also Android 2.3 with a custom Amazon tuning. The Kindle Fire has broken all records for tablet sales at introduction and it continues to do well. Check out our What's New page for my review. This is a really nice tablet!

The HTC Desire smart phone we reviewed here is also Android 2.3. Android 3.0 has been out a while and 4.0 is just now coming out on the newest devices.

If I didn't like the Kindle I'd next look at the Samsung tablets for photography uses, and the Ipad2 for general use. But for $199 the Kindle Fire is a hard one to beat.

I hope your system likes whatever you give to her.
