Record site traffic today.  This is probably due to the big news with Google today.  Google put new algorithms online yesterday which rewards 'consistent quality content' and identifies 'content farms' which many think unfairly pull numbers to their sites.  You've seen them, you type something into google like "Chevy Volt" and you click on a top ranked site that turns up from the search, and when you get to the site there's nothing there.  Content farms just add the most trending words for the day to draw hits, but there's nothing there but maybe a search engine and a few advertisers when you get there.  Annoying to say the least, and it takes away from quality sites like Bangkok Images who have genuine quality content such as images and articles and user forums.  Thank you google!

This weeks new content will go live at 1900 this evening.   This week our Feature Photograph continues our series on toning with "Sepia Toning", our Feature Destination covers the "Eric Clapton Bangkok 2011" concert, and we have a great tutorial on using noise reduction in Lightroom titled "Lightroom Noise Reduction Tutorial."  We also have news for the week of February 26th, and a question asking if we have any "Lightroom Tutorials."  Steve's Musings this week is titled "Thailand Car Ownership" and responds to Stickman's recent article on his decision to not drive in Thailand.

This is a site you'll want to bookmark for sure.  Have you ever tried to lookup a software or hardware vendor and you go through the search engine route and more than a few clicks to find it?  Microsoft has been so kind as to provide a complete vendor list here.  It's extremely useful.  Bookmark it!

So far I've updated 4 Bangkok Images computers with Win7 SP1 without a single issue.  Everything appears fine.  Two more to go.

We added a "'ClustrMaps" widget to the bottom of the home page.  You can see at a glance how many visitors we've had, and if you like you can click on the map for more detailed information.

Today we started an advertising campaign over on Thai Visa to see if we can get more members active on the site.  I'd especially like to see the forums used more and more comments left for the contributors of the features they submit.  They put a lot of work into making up the features and a comment or two goes a long way towards making them feel like their time was well spent.

Please welcome any new members and be as helpful as possible.  With any luck our small community will grow larger.

And as always, if you have any comments towards improving things let me know.  I'm very open to such things.

Last month we upgraded our galleries and made sure the setup menus and the such were the right color and easy to read.  I think we've implemented all the requested changes, but if I missed something let me know.

Speaking of galleries..  I'll once again be upgrading our galleries soon, perhaps within the week.  New features will support the most popular video formats so we can start posting our time delays and panos.. as well as any key video from our DSLR's.  Other new features include support for the popular Ipad and iphone.  Can't wait!

Winter is over!  The hot season is just starting, the insect eggs are hatching, birds are singing, and I'm sweating.  ;o)

As we enter another season we have the hottest time of the year just 30-45 days away, Songkran to look forward to soon, and another year upon us.

Take advantage of every day!
