My Amazon Kindle Fire arrived this morning. I've had a very limited amount of time to use the device, but check out my comments here in the Amazon Kindle Fire Running Review. I'll be updating this running review throughout the next week or so as I get the chance to become more familiar with the Kindle Fire's many features and how they fit into my uses.

In our recent Day Trader PC Build I used a USB 3.0 Superspeed Internal Flash Memory Card Reader and was so impressed with it, that I bought one for my own workstation and I've been reviewing it for a few weeks now. I just posted this review with the details. If you want to know the details read the review here. If you just want a great USB 3.0 Internal Flash Memory Card Reader them go buy the Koutch RCM630.

Remember my piece "Ordering an Amazon Kindle Fire?" Did you order yours? If you did, Amazon is shipping the Kindle Fire a day early on the 15th vs. the 16th so you might want to keep an eye out for the boys in brown (UPS). I'll be home tomorrow when mine arrives and I'll be sure to share my first impressions.

Making captures in the Midwest is a bit more challenging in that to make them interesting you really need to pay attention to elements you take for granted in Thailand. Elements such as light casting long shadows, texture, and long horizons. It's a great season, I hope you're out there with your 8 year old camera enjoying the weather!

The color in the sky was natural, though I processed the entire image for a bit more contrast. I've never seen color floating around in one small location of the sky before.

Fujifilm releases firmware update 1.11 for the very popular Fuji x100 which Tom Tweedel took to China and then reviewed for you here and I talked about here. The firmware update improves close in autofocus and addresses a few other bugs. I updated my Fuji x100 with no problem, and I'm sure you can too.

Driving down the interstate I spotted some cool looking trains in a town called Monticello. Further investigation revealed a really nice train museum complete with an entire train station, several display areas, a train garage, and their own private 20 mile line where they run their own antique trains on certain days of the month. You can reserve a space on these rides and experience antique sleeper cars, plush cabooses, troop carriers, or just about anything your heart desires in the way of a train. I could only stay a few moments, but I'll be going back. Enjoy these two shots in the meantime..
