Dana brings us another “Thailand Photo Stories” submission titled “IN MEMORIAM.” Dana’s Thailand Photo Stories are in my opinion some of his best work anywhere.  You don’t want to miss these.

Have you ever wanted to photograph the moon when it was super large?  A temple in the foreground, superlarge moon in the background?  I'm sure you can think of something and you just happen to be in luck!

On March 19th, at sunset, the largest moon we've seen in 20 years will rise in the east.  Of course the moon isn't large, it just appears larger.  For a learned explanation why read this article.   And go take some pictures of that huge moon this Saturday night and send me some to share with the other readers.

The big news for today is the weather.  I'm not sure how cold it was last night, but this morning at 1100 it was 17c!   62.5F!     That's cold for Thailand folks.  The locals are outside wearing jackets, wool hats, and mittens.  And we're just a few weeks out from Songkran, the hottest time of the year.  And yesterday I was running the AC..  Did you know we have a weather widget on our Home and What's New page side panels?  Yep, you can see the weather in Centigrade or Fahrenhite any time you want.  Exchange rates too.  It is current 18c in Bangkok Thailand.

This has been a very slow week so I've been busy updating some parts of the site.  Hopefully we'll have more visuals in the sidebars soon, I've updated the header/banner images (cntl-F5 to refresh your browser, or just clear your catch), updated the home page, and a few other housekeeping functions.

Most major camera retailers are now taking orders for the Fuji X100.  It's already known this camera was in short supply, not nearly enough to meet demand, and with the disaster in Japan who knows if that will be holding up new stock.  If you want an X100 I'd suggest you get on the list as soon as possible and make a prepaid order.

Like most of you I've been glued to the television watching the news coverage of the earthquake in Japan.  There aren't words enough..  But I do want to say our thoughts and sympathy are with the people of Japan and we wish the best possible in the aftermath of this devastating natural disaster.

Adobe releases Lightroom 3.4 Release Candidate for Mac and Windows, and Adobe Camera Raw 6.4 for Mac and Windows.  New cameras supported are the Canon 600D/T3i, Olympus XZ-1, and others.  I installed both and they're working great.
