RAM Explained
2/12/2011 7:00 PM By  anonymous

How much RAM? Win7 machines should have a minimum of 4gb. Vista 2gb but will greatly benefit from 4gb, a very noticeable difference. For most gaming 6gb of RAM will get you to the “point of marginal returns”, for most image processing 12gb, and light to moderate video rending 24gb, and heavy video rendering 48gb+., Long Term Update

Overall the experience of sending consumer products from the USA to Thailand has been very positive, easy, and I’ve been able to get the products I need/want at greatly reduced prices when compared to local prices. And many times I’ve ordered and received professional camera and computer items just not available here at any price.

During workshops one of the most requested “can you show me how” techniques is selective saturation. The technique produces eye catching images popular with amateur photographers and I think with good reason.

Gamuts, Color Profiling, and the Internet
10/16/2010 7:29 PM By  anonymous

This week we’re going to put the pieces together and talk about how they relate to gamuts, color profiling our monitors, and how we process images in our processing software such as Lightroom or Photoshop and then how we see the same image when posted on the web, made into a print, or on our own monitors at home.

Monitor Basics

There is nothing that will bring more personal satisfaction to your photography than being able to properly see the output of your camera whether it be on print or on screen.  And the better the screen, the more easy and more accurate your post processing will be and the more you’ll enjoy doing the work.

Lightroom 3.2, Processing A Landscape
9/25/2010 7:00 PM By  anonymous

This week we’re going to do much the same, but with a landscape.  Like portraits, there is a lot to processing a landscape, no single process will fit all landscapes.  What processes we use depends heavily on the image we captured and the subject matter within.  Still, most of what we learn today can be carried over and I encourage you to open your own landscape and follow along.

Lightroom, Processing A Glamor Portrait

Let’s go through the processing process together and maybe this time you can pull up an image of your own into Lightroom 3.2 and follow along with the different steps?  If you do, I can almost promise you that in 10 minutes time you can duplicate the processing I used for this image., A Shipment Forwarding Service
