Hybrid Drive With Lightroom Difference?

I am using lightroom and I want to speed things up.   Would that significantly increase lightroom speed compared to an SSD and 700rpm platter combo?

JPEG Degradation

I was wondering if it makes sense to convert the Jpegs to Tiff first as they are lossless, then process the tiff files and convert back to Jpeg when it’s done, to minimize the “damage” done to the image.

SSD Choices On A Budget

I'm leaning towards either Intel or OCZ SSD but not really sure how to choose. From the research I done they both seem to have good remarks, but the OCZ is a fairly new product so there could be a surprise hidden.

Easy Image Resizing

I have 10 or 12 photos from the South America cruise and another report on the NEX 5 to send. Last time I had to send pictures in 3 different E-mails to you. Is there a way to reduce the file size of these so they can all go at once?

But as an amateur photographer you can position yourself very well by starting off with Adobe Lightroom knowing that when you reach that point where you’ll want more, yours skills in Lightroom will translate well to Adobe Photoshop CS5, and that both will remain useful to you at any level of photography.

Looking on some different forums there seems to be multiple ways of making part of the picture B&W. I know to some this is a “kitch” look that has been done to death. But I think at times it can have a real impact.

Rick’s LCD Is Separating

As can be seen in attached pictures there is a issue with the LCD screen on my camera. There is a stain, intrusion on/under the screen that is slowly growing larger.
