Give bird compositions a try, but be prepared to work for them. And be prepared for your single bird compositions to become much more polished for your efforts.


Toning For Effect and Fun

When toning for effect or fun, try and keep the plot in mind. Don’t go over the edge. Try to identify what you’re trying to do, where the image should fit in, and what turns you on the most. When you set your mind to it, you’d be surprised what you can come up with!


Black and White Toning

Making an effective/attractive black and white image is much more than just sliding the saturation slider to the left. It’s about ‘feeling’ the image and getting the very most from it, trying different levels, different looks, much like we’d do in the darkroom long ago.
