Pakse is the capital of the southern province of Champasak, with a population of about 80 thousand making it the third most populous city in Laos. Pakse is growing as a tourist destination as its ideal for visiting Wat Phu, Si Phan Don (four thousand islands), the Bolavan Plateau and Cambodia.

Koh Samed
8/20/2011 11:50 AM By  anonymous

Years ago I would visit Samed Island regularly as a quiet getaway when traveling around Thailand and the bordering countries, it was the place to go when I had overspent elsewhere, here I would slow down and recover before moving on. Now I visit less often as the motor boats and jet skis slowly take over the nicest beaches.
