Suanpalm Farmnok (bird farm) has long been on my “must visit” list for a number of reasons, but mostly because after being owned by a couple parrots for the last ten years I’ve developed a keen interest in these fascinating creatures. |

| I’m usually not really fond of Thai street markets, after all they’re a common sight anywhere in Thailand. But how many have a big locomotive coming right down through the center of it seven times a day? Fun! |

| While visiting a friend in Hua Hin recently we decided to head out to the lesser populated and toured areas to see if we could find an area of interest to photograph. We settled on a small area immediately outside the city where squid is fished, processed, and sold. |

| I tried, with marginal success, to eliminate the effects of the haze, and if the images were taken individually you’d have a hard time putting your finger on it. But a series of images reveals the issues. |

The Mae Hong Son province is in my opinion the most beautiful natural area of Thailand. If you haven’t visited the Mae Hong Son province then you really haven’t experienced the best Thailand has to offer. There is much to the area, from refugee camps along the Myanmar border, rainforests, mountain ranges, and several ethnic villages providing a unique insight into Thailand’s past and perhaps even its future. |
